Saturday Art Gallery – Day 1

I had this thing with art since I was a child. It was always my calling. I would draw and draw, use hundreds of sheets and make a pile of art work!

Years passed and I became too busy with other things in my life , this love was lost! It became my β€œEx”.

Following my lost love I started drawing again last year. This time it was patterns. I was so happy and excited to be finally doing it that I wanted to share it with the world.

I did it, but then, it sort of overwhelmed me. I suddenly thought that I am not good enough. Instead of having fun with my art, I became critical. I took a step back and gave up!

Yes, I stopped drawing. We broke up again !

Today when I saw a fellow blogger share his piece of art, I wondered why did I leave it? I had no answers, maybe because I was scared, I was insecure even. I wasn’t ready for the commitment.

Here I am, again, trying to get back with my love. I don’t want to give up this time! I want to make it work❀️ I want to do it now before it’s too late!

So here’s the deal, I am going to start a new series on my blog, called “Saturday Art Gallery“.

Every week, on Saturdays I will share one of my creations and write something that it signifies. I will use one of my work and give it a little twist with some edits.

Would love to hear your interpretation of my art work as well!! It would mean a lot.

I present to you the first one!

The Butterfly ❀️

To me, this creation of mine signifies freedom, beauty and uniqueness all at the same time!!

Things I used to create this:

  • A white sheet
  • A Black Micron pen set to draw the pattern – number 005, 02 and 05
  • Used my phone to click this picture.
  • Then just to make it little more fun and colorful, I used this app called “PS Express” to add that splash of color. (Originally it does not have that color splash)

Let me know if you want me to upload the original Image as well.

P.S. Thank you for the little push Potatosandwich ! πŸ™‚

Eh, hold the front page. This is absolutely beautiful! So elegant a drawing, love the detail and the splash of colour. For me, the detail of the butterfly signifies a somewhat organised state, but then the splash of colour overrides that with the sense of freedom. Go wherever your mind wants to take you. Look forward to the Saturday art works!!

…and thus the love begins again

lol. Love is love, love is all around, then why not get drunk and lost in your love. I don’t know why but when we seem to grow up we let go of the very things we used to love. Lets take drawing out of the equation, even just colouring….we just drop these things…whereas now, it is scientifically proven that colouring (and drawing) is very good for the mind and a great combat to the horrid disease that is dementia.

I know right! That’s what I was thinking last night while writing the article… that why did i leave it… I remember those piles of paper at my home which has my drawings… i was so young around 15 I guess and that is all I wanted to do… last year wen I thought of starting it back I just wanted to prove it to myself that I haven’t forgotten it… it still is in me… somewhere lost…

It is beautiful! Do you know what I see? I see patienceβ€”a lot!β€”and freedom. This is such a great idea! I love drawing too! I love drawing trees and natureβ€”mostly pine trees, they are my obsessionβ€”, and thought about dedicating a section in my blog for my drawings and stories, as well.
Drawing is a lovely way to say things, as much as writing. You can tell a lot with your hands as much as with your mind.
I am looking forward to see more of your drawings! I think, as any relationship, there will be ups and downs and doubts, but the more you commit, the more you will see how much you love it!

Yes I completely agree with you. Any art form is so therapeutic. I too have published a Poetry Book just last year and it is called Poet’s Touch and my blogger friends have motivated me so much and their support and friends and family that I am writing a short story book too. Do keep on doing what you like dear. You are always welcome.
